FILE LIST REPORTING

A standard component of our EDD product is to provide a list of every file in a data set, including but not limited to the file type, file name and file size. This report helps our clientele to make a specific determination of the data they want processed, saving valuable time and money.

META-DATA EXTRACTION

Meta-data is the electronic data’s fingerprint. All data is extracted and stored in a database for searching purposes. Meta-data includes creation date, most recent altered date, most recent saved date, last printed date, last accessed date last saved date, author, recipient, CC, BCC, full text and document type, and more, all of which can be useful in prosecuting or defending a case. Obviously, our system processes data without altering the meta-data.

TEXT EXTRACTION

The text from each file is extracted and stored in a database for searching purposes. For native file deliverables the text and meta-data is provided with hyper-links to the native page/document.

KEY WORD/BOOLEAN SEARCH

Documents can be searched and culled based on a multitude of combinations of key words and names. The original data set is always maintained and searches are done on a backup copy set.

ATTACHED FILES & SOURCE FILES

Many documents are not designed for image specific viewing, such as many spreadsheets and databases, yet they can still be quite meaningful as evidence. Some files have macros or other types of programming that allow the document to interact with the user and change as the user enters data. In these situations we link each original attachment and or source file to the data so that a user has the option of viewing the document in its original format. The process ultimately dispatched for such files is determined by consultation with the client.

TIFF/PDF CONVERSION

Where required documents are converted into Group IV TIFF images or PDF images with text.

ID can deliver data to virtually all on-line review platforms and databases, including Concordance, Opticon, Introspect, Summation, Ringtail, DocuMatrix, IPRO, VirtualPartner, Applied Discovery, Kroll/On-Track, DB Text Works and In-Magic, just to name a few. ID is also a licensed re-seller and certified trainer for Concordance and Summation.
