Meet the Team

Kim Taylor
Chief Executive Officer

Kim Taylor is responsible for managing overall strategic growth and direction of the company. Mr. Taylor has 30+ years of experience in litigation technology, software, and services. He brings a wealth of expertise with great strengths in areas such as software development, consulting, mergers and acquisitions. 

Mr. Taylor is an advocate, champion, and voice for innovation and company culture. His drive and passion are well-known, and he has a reputation for building success stories not only in companies but people, process, and innovation.

He was awarded a Patent (#9953384) for Automated Digital Discovery data processing and workflow solution.  Mr. Taylor is a three time inductee into the Sun Devil 100, which celebrates the achievements of Arizona State University alumni who own or lead successful, innovative businesses across the globe.

Mr. Taylor holds a Master of Business Operational Excellence from the Ohio State University, an Executive MBA and a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, and a paralegal degree from Phoenix College, an ABA-approved program.

James H. Perkins Jr.  
Chief Operating Officer

James Perkins Jr. started his career in the litigation support industry in 1998, while also attending George Mason University as a full-time student. Beginning as a Customer Service Representative for On-Site Sourcing, Mr. Perkins was gradually promoted to several Sales and Management positions. By the end of his time with the company, Mr. Perkins had become the top Account Executive and truly learned the ins and outs of eDiscovery from the bottom-up.
In 2005, Mr. Perkins left On-Site Sourcing and took his knowledge and experience to co-found Innovative Discovery, LLC in Arlington, Virginia. As the Chief Operating Officer, he has been vital in the positive growth of ID as one of the top litigation support and eDiscovery providers in the nation. Over the last 10 years, Mr. Perkins’s dedication to building true relationships with clients has undoubtedly become the ID standard for all future endeavors, business or personal matters alike.

In his spare time, Mr. Perkins is an avid volunteer for many charities and non-profit organizations. Over the past few years, Mr. Perkins has volunteered with the Wreaths Across America organization, which honors our nation’s Veterans with arrangements year-round in Arlington National Cemetery. He has also raised awareness for other groups, such as Gifts for the Homeless, Special Olympics, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, through charitable donations and participating in both local and nationwide events.

Joseph H. Martinez
Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Forensics, eDiscovery & Information Security

Joseph Martinez is a veteran of the United States Army, a former Counterintelligence Special Agent and an Investigator for over ten years. As a member and leader with the U.S. Army’s only Cyber Counterintelligence unit, Mr. Martinez served as team leader as well as Assistant Supervisory Special Agent. He has conducted numerous joint and national level investigations and operations, and deployed to conduct computer forensics and incident response operations all over the world. Prior to his work in the field of computer crime, Mr. Martinez conducted counterintelligence investigations and operations, as well as national and foreign liaison for the U.S. Army overseas; detecting, exploiting, and neutralizing threats to U.S. security.
Post-military service, Mr. Martinez performed computer forensic and network intrusion investigations for corporate and government clients, as well as training and implementing computer forensic policies and procedures for Fortune 500 and 1000 clients across the globe. Prior to Innovative Discovery, Mr. Martinez was a Senior Forensic Consultant and managed Guidance Software’s Professional Services Division in the DC Metro area. Mr. Martinez currently continues to provide full-scale services to clients in the realms of digital forensics, compliance, and electronic discovery. He assists law firms, corporate clientele, and government agencies with every phase of the eDiscovery process. Mr. Martinez also provides Continuing Legal Education training to attorneys in the subjects of Computer Forensics and eDiscovery.
Mr. Martinez graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Martinez is an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), an AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE), a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and a Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).

Cathy A. Fetgatter
Vice President of Analytics & Managed Review Services

Cathy Fetgatter brings more than ten years of litigation and discovery management experience, both as a litigator and in litigation support, to Innovative Discovery. She has extensive experience advising clients and counsel on the deployment of process and technology to meet their litigation goals, and ensures exceptional delivery of these processes throughout the discovery tlifecycle.
Mrs. Fetgatter’s area of expertise is in managed review, including process defensibility and cost-saving strategies utilizing technology assisted review workflows (e.g., predictive coding). Her adroit deployment of process and technology is further enhanced by integrating a talented review team. Mrs. Fetgatter recruits the highest-caliber talent, administers robust training programs, and employs quality assurance protocols from the start of the review - providing early and consistent feedback to the review team, as well as full transparency into the workflow and review results to the client. Mrs. Fetgatter actively utilizes analysis and strategy to increase efficiencies, implement best practices and process improvements, and knowledge sharing both internally and with the end client.
Prior to Innovative Discovery, Mrs. Fetgatter practiced at McGuireWoods LLP in the firm’s Government, Regulatory and Criminal Investigations Department. Her practice focused on complex commercial litigation, securities enforcement, export violations, and internal and government investigations.
Mrs. Fetgatter attended the JD/MBA program at American University, is a member of the Virginia Bar and District of Columbia Bar, and is a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
